Wheat in its natural form consists of the bran, the germ, and the endosperm. The bran and germ contain protein, fiber, and other nutrients your body needs, but they are destroyed during the refining process. Enriched white flour does not get absorbed into the body like whole grains but, instead, your body quickly digests and absorbs this flour like pure sugar.
