Scientists have reported that Sodium Benzoate is only dangerous when mixed with food coloring and Vitamin C. Some research suggests this combination causes hyperactivity seen in children with ADHD and can produce a substance called benzene which can lead to cancer. Doses of Sodium Benzoate are monitored in the US and Europe.
